What's Up:
I'm up here in the
beautiful Pacific Northwest where there's a Starbucks on every
corner and a Microsoft millionaire around every bend.
(Unfortunately, we're not one of them.) We made a business move here
11 years ago after 23 years living in San Diego. Brad and I have
been married for 33 years.
My Occupation:
After I edited the
WRHS school paper, I never stopped writing. I had a career in
advertising copy and scriptwriting, and for the last 10 years I've
been writing for regional and national magazines. My byline is
Kathryn Renner.My Family:
A son 27, a
daughter 24. Both great kids. Both still single.
Our son lives here, our daughter is in grad school at USC in L.A.
and teaches writing composition there.
Favorite Memories:
Duby's red Falcon,
winning State of course!, The Barn and the time I brought our
neighbor's pet goose as a joke (what WAS I thinking?!), the play
Harvey with Theresa McVicker, the day Kennedy was shot announced in
Mr. Mahaffey's French class, 10-cent French fries at McDonalds on
Wadsworth after the games, the mascot on the entrance floor, the
Trumpet Trio, Tia's smile and Miss America pageant, Shelly's laugh,
dates with Carl and the foursome, sweet Doug Jackson and Bill Butler
(may they rest in peace), pep rallies, the French Club three-week
tour to Europe, my D in chemistry, games against big-rival Lakewood,
art class with Mr. Wetherbee, SO many of you (and this reunion is
bringing you all back into focus) and how young, beautiful and
clueless we all were.
